Global Accessibility Awareness Day 2018

Join us for our 3rd annual #GAAD event on May 17th from 4:00-7:00pm!

Clockwork and WeCo will introduce digital accessibility from the viewpoint of both digital practitioners and users living with a variety of disabilities. The event is a great opportunity for people who use, design, build, or sell technology to learn about the topic.

This year's event has two primary sections.

Panel Discussion: Making the Case for Digital Accessibility

4:30 - 5:30 pm, Moderated by Sarah Olson, Women Who Code

Digital accessibility is one of the most critical usability concerns of our day. As more and more of our everyday lives moves online, it becomes increasingly important that the online content is available to everyone. Yet digital accessibility is often not seen as a business requirement, let alone a consideration. Some say it’s too expensive, others say it means digital products can’t be beautiful, and some even say it doesn’t matter.

We want to help you change that. “Making the Case for Digital Accessibility” will provide attendees with talking points and support to convince colleagues, clients, and bosses to make digital accessibility a bigger part of their digital presence.

Device Expo

5:45-7:00 pm

See the most commonly used assistive computer devices demonstrated by WeCo’s Accessibility Specialists and Test Consultants, all of whom live with one or more disability.

  • JAWS screen reader software
  • Braille laptop
  • iPhone VoiceOver
  • Dragon Naturally Speaking/Sticky Keys

Who should attend?

People who are already convinced of the importance of digital accessibility, and those who want to be convinced.
